This I know all to well. DD2 (Darling Daughter number two) herself a gold chord "Girl Guide" and future teacher is pierced but I think they've grown in leaving some interesting scars.

Hi Ron -
I was adamant about no tattoos and no pierced tongue and you see where that got me. In the end, he was good young man and that's all that mattered. The rest was so unimportant I don't know why I ever argued with him about it.

I think it's so sweet that he respected you enough to write his point of view down on paper! That says a lot about how he respected you and your opinions. A precious episode. I personally don't understand the piercing thing, I think it's gastly but then again, I'm old as dirt, and what do I know?

Oh Michele - I totally agree, its awful but what can you do - he was old enough and was working and had his own money so I lost that arguement. Actually I was very amused that we were able to keep him from doing it sooner than he did and yes, the letter is priceless.

This letter is priceless.
My nephew who is 28 and his best girl both have the tongue piercing, which I've grown used to but it really grossed me out. How right you are though, in the end, it matters not at all. It's the person.
I just ache for you knowing you suffer this way.
