Robert Andrew Romero
"PACO"

“A dreamer is one who can only find his way
by moonlight, and his punishment is
that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." Oscar Wilde“

Andrew was only five years old when this song was released. Believe it or not he was already developing his own taste in music. This was the first contemporary music cassette tape I can remember buying him. He loved this song.

Thanks Sandy, I always loved this song. It's funny how things seem different after someone passes away - the first time I heard this song after Andrew died I was struck by the first two line, as though it were the very first time I had heard them. Suddenly they took on a new and surreal meaning...
Welcome to your life - There's no turning back...

Ah, yes I can see how you would suddenly see the irony in the words.
That song blasts me back to the 80's big time. What a cute little boy he was and I'm sorry that it doesn't get better. I know it can't.
You keep painting and going on motorcycle rides and having the enormous faith that you do.

Its funny how although Paco is gone... I'm still able to "get to know him." Thru you & your blog, your stories I feel like he is still in my daily life. I am able to learn new things about him. I hope some of my stories might do that for you. I talk to him at least once a day, that might sound crazy to some people but there are so many funny coincidences that happen and if he can't see them I at least know he would have gotten a kick out of them.
Sometimes I sit & wonder how one person could have had all of the amazing qualities Paco had. How could there even be other great people in the world when he got so much!!! It takes me back to your homepage when you said some stars shine too bright to shine for too long. It's true. All that is left for me to do now is remember him & be thankful I got to know him!!!!!

Toni - Every night I light a candle for him, probably more for me. But when I light it I touch his picture and say "I love you" and I always hear him in my mind saying "I love you too mom" just the way he always did.

I never cease to be amazed at the wide variety of people who say they enjoyed is company - I have seen him get down and color with little kids, visit and tease his residents at the nursing home like everyone of them is his grandparent, and then sit with me and my friends and make us laugh and have a good time before taking off with his own friends - he really was "Timeless".

I'm glad I learned how to embed songs onto this blog - Andrew was all about music -

Thanks for you consistant remberance of Paco -

"Timeless" is a great word to describe him. How are you doing? Do you have any plans to come down?
